Year 2019

One Child's Heart is an RPG that's not like most of the ones you see out there. Players take on the role of child welfare professionals who use a new scientific technique to head into a kid's psyche and see what sort of issues are going on in there, helping to rectify them wherever possible.

Yeah, it's... deep. And it's upon Kickstarter now.

Far Away Land is a fantasy RPG that looks to bring back the feel of those old-school original role-playing games, but with some updated rules and mechanics to make it flow. But, sometimes, getting players to learn a new rule system can be a pain. They know their one system and that's what they want to play. Well, the folks at Simian Circle Games doesn't want that to keep you from playing their game, so they've got an OSR version of Far Away Land up on Kickstarter now.

Steve Jackson created The Fantasy Trip waaaaaaaaaaaay back seemingly a million years ago as one of the first RPGs out there. Recently, he brought the game back successfully through Kickstarter. Now, they're looking to add more to it. Steve Jackson Games is running a Kickstarter for The Fantasy Trip: Decks of Destiny, a bunch more cards for the game.

Tuesday and the work week is well underway. How's yours going? Hopefully well. My Monday seemed to go by quickly, which is always nice. To help make the rest of the week go by just as quickly, let's tune in to some gaming podcasts, shal we?

This week on the dial we have: Geeks of the North Episode 71: Inspiring medias and vaguecasting; All Us Geeks Episode 85: It’s Unreal That The Geeks Race To Go Digital; Morrus' Unofficial Tabletop RPG Talk Episode 45: U3 The Final Countdown — Err, Enemy; Chance of Gaming Episode 29; Meeples & Miniatures Episode 266: It’s all Greek to me, Part Alpha; The Offline Gamer Episode 38 - Ooops...; and The Secret Cabal Express 48: Quantic Foundry Board Games Motivation Profile.

Sometimes, the rest of your gaming group doesn't show up. Sometimes, you're just hanigng out on your own. Sometimes, you want to steal from the rich and give to the poor. Sometimes, you want to wear green tights. That's just nature. And in Robin Hood: Hero of the People, a new solo card game that's up on Kickstarter now, you can do all of those.

Big Eyes, Small Mouth, one of the quint-essential Anime-rpg systems, originally from White Wolf, is getting a new version. This time, it's Dyskami Publishing. They've gotten the go-ahead to create the 4th edition of the game.

A cabin in the woods. It's a pretty classic location for a horror movie. You'd think things couldn't get much worse. But then you hear a creak from the door that leads to the basement. And that's just where you'll be headed in Monster Slaughter: Underground, the new expansion that's up on Kickstarter now.

When you want to fill your day with gaming info, a wargaming magazine is a great way to do that. In this instance, while May may start tomorrow, you can go ahead and pick up that month's issue of Wargaming Illustrated now.

Sometimes, you just can find anyone that wants to GM the game. Let's face it, it's a lot of work. So, having a game that takes the GM out of the situation can be handy. Facing the Titan is one such game. Players take on the role of Companions looking to overthrow the Titan that rules the world. Will you be successful? The campaign is up on Kickstarter now.

Japanime Games and Dyskami Publishing are joining forces to bring you some more games based on the fan-favorite anime, Sailor Moon Crystal. The two are partnering up on a distribution deal, with new games making their way to you the rest of this year and into 2020.

Maybe clown goblins aren't quite your thing. Well, how about mutated rats? That's what Warploque Miniatures has going on with their fantasy football team Kickstarter. Squeaky Blinders has a new ratmen team that you can hit the gridiron with.

Just because you don't reach your goal the first time doesn't mean you can't try again. And that's what GamesMiniatures is doing with their Gobfreak Stars fantasy football team. They're back up on Kickstarter and hoping to hit a home run this time around. Hat trick!

"Fight fire with fire." That's sort of the unofficial tagline of the BPRD. If there's weird, metaphysical and supernatural stuff going down, why not have weird, metaphysical and supernatural stuff fight it? That's what you'll be doing in Hellboy: the Board Game. It's available now from Mantic.

Over the weekend, I helped a 50ft tall swan hatch her egg she'd been sitting on for thousands of years. You know, just your average stuff. I hope you had a good weekend. I know it's over, but we'll get back to another weekend soon. And when we get there, we'll want our gaming tables looking good.

Today in the terrain corner we have: New Cave Mat Available From Deep-Cut Studio and Hive City Grand Fountain Available From Tabletop Scenics.

Pre-orders for the next set for 51st State are being taken now. It's called Allies and if you're a fan of the game, you'll want to get in now. There's two factions that are only going to be released as part of the expansion's pre-order.

Shadowborne Games is working on a brand new board game that will be coming to Kickstarter later this year. However, they're not ones to just throw information out there willy-nilly. Oh no, they'd much more coy about it. They've posted up a contest where you're looking to complete an anagram from an image. People who find the answer just might win themselves a copy of the game.

What's in the boooooox!?!?
It's what everyone wants to know when they get a new game (or a mystery package out in the middle of a field). For those wanting to get Super Punch Fighter, Plaid Hat Games has a new video up showing exactly what's in said bod.

Game over, man! Game over!
Actually, the game's not even begun yet. This year, we're getting an official adaptation of the Alien franchise for your RPG tabletops.

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy, come on baby, let me know.
That's the music of choice for Slaanesh as they hit the battlefield. The Hedonites of Slaanesh book, as well as a host of new figures are now available to order for Age of Sigmar over on the Games Workshop website.

Kobolds. Pretty much anyone that's played a fantasy RPG has run up against them at some point. I know a lot of people find them annoying, but I kinda love 'em, both as an enemy as a possible PC choice. But that's me. If you also love kobolds, you might want to check out The Kobold Lair, a new detailed encounter from Skirmisher Publishing that's available now.

It's a tough life out there as a widget inventor. You've got to work hard at creating your own widgets. But you also dont' want any uppity competitor getting ahead, so you gotta go and destroy their widgets. At least, that's what's happening in Widget Ridge, a new deck-building card game that's up on Kickstarter now.

Paradise Lost is a new fantasy board game that's up on Kickstarter now. Take on the role of classic fairy tale characters such as Alice, Aladdin, Hercules, and more as you face off against your nemeses, or those of other famous characters. There's elements of social deduction as well, as the Water Witch has summoned her own champion, who must be found out.

Sandy Petersen is running a Kickstarter campaign for a new expansion for the Cthulhu Wars board game. It's The Daemon Sultan and, well, you know Cthulhu Wars already, so head on over and check it out.

Fridaaaaaay! Woo! The gateway to the weekend. So many possibilities in the next couple days. I will be playing some D&D tomorrow. I hope you have gaming plans as well. I also have plans to go to one of my favorite restaurants, so there's that. But before I get to that, let's snack on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: The Crucible Collection Miniatures Up On Kickstarter, Slumbering Oblivion III: H.A.D.E.S. Rising Sci-Fi Minis Up On Kickstarter, Custom Pixel Art Character Creator Up On Kickstarter, Alter Sleeves Card Protectors Up On Kickstarter, and Tahiti Twilight Dice Releasing Today from Kraken Dice.
