Year 2019

The flowers are in bloom and there's color everywhere, with butterflies flitting about, looking to collect nectar. But only the best flowers will attract the most butterflies. That's where you find yourself in Papillon, a new board game from Kolossal Games that's up on Kickstarter now.

Smash City is the new monster board game from WizKids. In it, you can pick up a bus and throw it back down as you wade through the buildings towards the center of toooooooown. Fight your way through the city and against your opponents as you look to pick up the most Power Up tokens. Last monster standing becomes king. You can pick up your copies now.

Building and maintaining a town in the Old West isn't easy. You've got bandits, desperados, demons, monsters, drought, and all sorts of things to worry about. Wait... Demons and Monsters? Yeah, they're roaming around as well. Keeping the peace just got a lot harder in Hard West, a new strategy board game that's up on Kickstarter now.

Have you ever been walking a trail or driving down the road and seen something on the side of the road? It happens all the time. Most of the time, you might just keep on going. But occasionally you might stop and see what that thing is. And just like in real life, your gamers might do that as well. For those times, there's 100 Oddities for a Pilgrimage Trail, the new book from Skirmisher Publishing. You can get your copy now.

Weekend Eve. We've made it. And a day faster than usual, since we started this week on Tuesday (or, at least, many of us here in the US did). Tomorrow will be filled with Dungeons & Doggies... which reminds me, I should finish writing up that character. He's a Great Pyr, but he thinks he's actually a long-tailed, pygmy polar bear... because it's my character and I can decide to do that kind of stuff if I want. Anyway, before I dine on dog snacks, let's have some bite-sized gaming snacks.

Today on the platter we have: New Egyptian Fighters Available From Brother Vinni, Amazons of See Up On Kickstarter, Infernal Chaos Dwarves and Hobgoblins Up On Kickstarter, Ruins of Sanctuary 90mm Bases Available from Tabletop-Art, and Green Baron Available From Kromlech.

The next in the "board games of famous video games" line will be coming from IDW Games with Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game. IDW has announced an upcoming pre-order for the game, including three exclusive miniatures that you'll only get if you jump in early. No word yet on if the box lid will be big enough to hide under.

From what I've been able to tell, Rorke's Drift for the British is sort of like the Alamo for Americans. It's a battle that, while rather small in scale, has lived large in the historical records, and one that's gone back to many times in reference. Warlord Games is coming out with a new Rorke's Drift set for Black Powder, including brand-new sculpts of some of the famous individuals that fought there. Pre-orders are available now.

KeyForge was the world's first totally unique-deck card game. Every single deck was different from every other. And now, a whole slew of new decks are hitting streets. Age of Ascension, the new set, is available now. The decks have all new cards, as well as some familiar old ones mixed together so that, as before, no two decks on Earth will ever be the same.

Just because otherworldly horrors invade the normal world doesn't mean that everyone's life will change immediately. There will still be jobs to go to, school to study for, daycare to pick up your kids from. And that's the alternate world of 1990 that you find yourselves in in Things From the Flood, the new expansion to Tales From the Loop, the RPG from Free League Publishing. You can pick up your copies now.

All fantasy miniatures for you to pre-order this week from Forge World. Though it's not all the same brand of fantasy. We've got the mounted and unmounted version of Deorwine, Chief of the King's Knights for Lord of the Rings/Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game/The Hobbit. Then, over on the fantasy sports side of things in Blood Bowl, there's Deeproot Strongarm, star player treeman, and a pair of referee figures.

While time travel isn't something we can really do right now, we can sometimes get do-overs. The first Kickstarter campaign for Zoetrope didn't make it. But the people behind it have reconfigured, regrouped, and relaunced. The card-driven time travel RPG is back up on Kickstarter and really close to their funding goal.

Having some pre-made adventures that you can just drop into your game makes GM's lives that much easier. In The Folio: Artifacts of Adventures, you don't just get one or two adventures for 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons, you get eight, all in a single hardback book. The campaign is up on Kickstarter now.

Say you really love playing Pathfinder, but you also love playing card games. What're you supposed to do? Well, you could play the Pathfinder: Adventure Card Game. Seems like it checks both boxes off pretty squarely. There's a new core set out that you can pick up now. Along with it, there's also a new adventure path in the form of the Curse of the Crimson Throne.

Thursday. It's Weekend Eve Eve. As usual, I'm trilled about the upcoming weekend. And it's been a short week, so that makes things even better. Not that I mind work, of course. I love what I do. But, I mean... weekend... Anyway, as always on Weekend Eve Eve, it's time to help make your tables look better.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Dungeons & Lasers Coming to Kickstarter July 9th

Alter Quest takes its inspiration from all the great dungeon crawl board games of yore, but with updated components and mechanics to bring you plenty of fun on the tabletop. By utilizing a number of different, customizable decks, players can tailor-make their experience each time they play, creating countless combinations for endless replayability. The game is up on Kickstarter now.

The first RPG that I ever played is getting itself a new edition as well as a new starter set to go with it. Cyberpunk Red Jumpstart Kit will have everything you need to get into the hacking, fighting, and rust-tech world. They've posted up a preview, as well as a FAQ of what you can expect.

It's time again to fill your day with gaming info. I mean, I know I already do some of that, but gaming magazines can certainly help as well. In this instance, we have Dragon+ issue 25. As usual, it's got your regular bit of Dungeons & Dragons goodness.

Ok, so it doesn't have Tim Curry as Pennywise, bu the new IT movie was still really good. And soon, you'll be able to bring all the floating action down to your tabletops in IT: Evil Below, a new horror board game coming from USAopoly. They've posted up a new preview as well as a little video showing off how the game works and what you'll be getting inside the box.

Flames of War is getting ever-closer to their Late War releases, and Battlefront just can't contain their excitment anymore. They've posted up some previews of what you can expect from these new releases, including a brand-new 2-player starter set called Hit the Beach, and Fury, a tank battles book.

In a strange, haunted world, a group of individuals with the power to control Limerence, a potent magical force, are looking to right the wrongs that others refuse to fix. That's where you find yourself in Dust Wardens, a new RPG that's up on Kickstarter now.

Many Eldritch Horror games take place last century (in fact, roughly about a hundred years ago from now). But The Orpheus Protocol brings that to the modern world. Be a member of the elite Orpheus group and head out around the world to deal with all manner of existential horrors that look to destroy the world. The RPG is up on Kickstarter now.

Ancient Greece. It's one of the most lore-filled civilizations in the Western world, with tales and legends and myths that we still regularly tell today. If you'd like to enter that realm and fight monsters and sail the Mediterranean, you're in luck. The Arkadia setting book for Dungeons & Dragons is now available.

For those of you that want a bit more magic in your games of The Dark Eye, look no further than Magic of Aventuria. It greatly expands on the magic systems in the setting. You can find magic words, magic songs, magic dances, magic pantomime (I might've made that last one up), and more. If you're a spellcaster, this is definitely the book for you.

The fun thing about having Monday off is that it only kinda feels like Tuesday, but it's already Wednesday. Whee!

That means that it's time to snack on some bite-sized gaming stories as we make our way quickly back to the weekend.

Today on the platter we have: New Panhuman Head Packs Available From Warlord Games, Precision Aircraft Aluminum Dice Coming from Kraken Dice, and New Chaos Legionary Shoulderpads Available From Kromlech.

I mean, the real world is alright and all, but what about the realms that seem forever beyond our reach? What if "forever beyond our reach" was just a saying and not actually true? Would you breach through the curtain and take over the celestial throne? That's what you'll be trying to do in Alchemental: Rise of the Celestial Spheres, a new fantasy card game that's up on Kickstarter now.
