DEKA-DICE Now Live on Kickstarter, Offering a New Take on Tabletop Dice Rolling

DEKA-DICE, a card-based dice system for tabletop games, has launched on Kickstarter. The project introduces a new way to “roll” dice using a deck of cards, offering players the choice of standard rolls or an added layer of strategy.

Each deck consists of 72 cards divided into eight smaller sub-decks, representing the dice found in a standard D20 set. Players draw a card from the corresponding deck to determine their roll. The system can be used like regular dice, but with the optional Discard Mode, rolls are discarded until all sides of the die have been used, introducing an element of strategy to the game.

The optional Power-Roll Add-On Deck adds another dynamic to gameplay. This 35-card deck allows players to modify their rolls with potential benefits or risks, offering another layer of decision-making during the game.

Stretch goals include alternate deck colors and special editions if the campaign exceeds its funding goal. The DEKA-DICE campaign runs through November 2.
