In life, there are going to be setbacks. It's not going to be one perfectly smooth transition from one thing to the next. Well, you can either let those setbacks turn into walls, or you can still continue to push your way forward. The folks behind the Epic R.A.G.E. RPG are taking the second route. Their first Kickstarter didn't turn out how they wanted, so they've reconfigured and relaunched.
The game is created from the ground-up to make it so everything you need to play is in one book. They also did away with many of the traditional mechanics often found in RPGs. For starters, there's no levels. There's a point-buy system for your abilities. Then, they eliminated classes. This allows characters to try to do basically anything. The success or failure will be based on the roll of the dice and your skills, not by which class you picked out at character creation. Speaking of character creation, they did their best to make it as quick as possible, taking only about 5 minutes to go from concept to finished character. Another big departure from other RPGs is how magic is handled. You see, there is magic, but there aren't any spells. Instead, magic is done in a narrative-style. You tell the DM what you want to do, make your roll, and then find out if you did it or not.
The campaign is up and running now and is set to go for only another 15 days if you'd like to get in on the action.
