Royal Blood: A Tarot-Based Heist RPG Focused on Magic and Fate – On Kickstarter Now

Royal Blood is a tabletop roleplaying game that blends tarot cards, heists, magic, and high-stakes challenges.

Players take on the roles of Royals, modern-day magicians descended from ancient sorcerers, each represented by a court card in a tarot deck. These characters are tasked with pulling off daring heists to steal power from the Arcane—former humans transformed into nearly god-like beings over centuries.

The game uses a deck of tarot cards for everything from character creation to determining opposition during the heist. Each player’s actions are resolved through the tarot, which adds unpredictability to the heist and makes every decision feel consequential.

Players must navigate around formidable opponents like Death, the Hanged Man, and the Sun, each wielding immense power. But these powerful foes have become complacent, and the Royals are ready to exploit their weaknesses.

The revised edition of Royal Blood is designed for fast, intense gameplay. Sessions typically last around four hours, but the game can be adapted for shorter or longer play.

The new edition also features updated mechanics, new art, and a fully themed tarot deck, making it accessible for both new and experienced players alike. While prior knowledge of tarot is not required, a passing interest can enhance the experience.

The Royal Blood Kickstarter campaign is live, with plans to release the updated edition in English and Italian.

The campaign runs until November 14, with $86,606 pledged of the $64,934 goal from 1,022 backers.
