The world of Tronoe-17 seemed like your average alien planet. I mean, it was weird, especially what with the Slimezoids inhabiting it like they do. But everything seemed fine. That is until power crystals were found in abundance. Well, that's just the sort of discovery that changes everything. Now, both the Galaxia Federation and the Solari Alliance are looking to get their hands on those crystals. That's the story behind Spaceman Adventure, a new board game that's up on Kickstarter now.
The gameplay is very interesting. The game is what's being called a Bimatrix Game. It's sort of a modified worker placement game. The way that works is that you have a grid and one player secretly picks which row they want to play on, while the other player secretly chooses the column. So you can never be entirely sure where your piece is going to go when you place it. But after you do place, you score points based on the other pieces of your color around. There's also different roles you can play as a player, each of which has different scoring conditions as well. So picking who you are in a round, and where you place your figure, is paramount to success. There's also some bluffing involved, with where you choose to place your opponent's figures.
The Kickstarter campaign is up and running now. They're not quite to 1/3 of the way to their goal, but they've still got 20 days to make it there.
