From the company that brought you Shroedinger's Cats, it's Pavlov's Dogs (anyone want to be their next game will be Darwin's Finches?). It's a new party game where players take on the role of pooches that are trying to complete different tests brought about by famous dogtors of old (not a typo). How fast are your reflexes? How good is your memory? You'll find out when playing Pavlov's Dogs. The game is up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
Pavlov’s Dogs is a fast, engaging card game of following the rules and acting like fools! This cooperative psychological brain buster will test your memory and conditioning. You’ll be drooling for more!
Play as dogs taking tests from esteemed DOGTORS like Sigmund Fetch, Abby Maslow, and Collie Jung!
Dr. Ivan Pavlov introduced the concept of classical conditioning through his experiments with dogs. Pavlov’s theory was that a learned procedure pairs a stimulus with a conditioned response. Pavlov would ring a BELL and then give dogs food. After the dogs had been conditioned to this procedure, anytime Doctor Pavlov would ring a BELL the dogs would salivate in anticipation of getting food.
GAMES are all about a STIMULUS and a RESPONSE so why not play a game that IS about Classical Conditioning?! With Pavlov’s Dogs you can try your hand at conditioning your friends, family, and yourself!
In Pavlov’s Dogs, players are dogs taking tests from a group of famous Dogtors like Sigmund Fetch, Abby Maslow, and Collie Jung!
Dogs work together to succeed in a series of tests which will analyze their memory and recall skills. Players take turns acting as the DOGTOR to ensure the other dogs are following the rules. Dogtor's rules modify card values, change player actions, add verbal responses, or add physical actions to the test.
Even if you don’t pass every test your love of dogs, psychology, or games will have you drooling for more Pavlov’s Dogs!!!
The campaign's about 1/3 of the way to its goal with 21 days left to go.

It’s SURVIVAL OF THE FOREST – use guile, strategy, and the powers of 16 unique forest creatures to save your forest. An environmentally aware card game for 2 to 4 players.

Mechanical Dice Towers up on Kickstarter
There is a new project launched on Kickstarter by Moroz Publishing. This is not a board game, but something each of us wants to have on the table while playing our favorite RPGs, miniature wargames and a lot of other games with dice.
These are absolutely unique dice towers with a rotation mechanism. Roll dice by dropping them on the platform and pushing the lever!
Moroz Publishing together with Rightgames company are proud to present the Orc Totem and the White Castle — dice towers with a rotating platform. Unlike ordinary towers, you don’t throw your dice inside. Rather, you place them on a special platform, and let them loose with a special lever.
In addition to those two towers comes MDT-7 — a compact collapsible dice tower. This one easily fits in your bag and takes just a few seconds to fold out!
The project page has nice GIFs showing how these beauties work. Towers are shown in the introduction video too. Should be worth to see for yourself!

Having delivered on two previously highly successful Kickstarter campaigns the team is poised to continue doing great things for their fans.

The game is designed to be quick-playing and easy to teach and learn. On your turn, you have a card in your paw (since Kobolds don't have hands). That card tells you your meat and what you taste like (kobolds are, apparently, delicious when cooked). When it's your turn, you draw a card and then decide one of your two cards to play. Some cards have abilities when played. Others have abilities when they're on your plate (that is to say, in play). Others have special rules for when they're in your paw. Certain cards will give you a sammich. Others will give sammiches to King Torg (all hail King Torg!). Others let you eat other players (but don't worry, there's more kobolds to take their place). When the game ends, you see who got to eat the most sammiches. They win!
Artwork for the game was done by the always-talented John Kovalic (please don't cook and eat John Kovalic).
The Kickstarter campaign is up and running now. They're 2/3 of the way to their goal with still 29 days left on the clock.

Dystopian Wars Events Announced for Gnome Con
Dystopian Wars Demo Game
Gnomecon Savannah GA, 2015
(2 to 6 players)
Saturday March 7 2pm to 6pm
Imagine a world similar to our own, but subtly different. Now imagine the year is 1870 and the Industrial Revolution occurred decades earlier than in our own world. Technology is far advanced, and in many cases, unrecognizable, which has led to the development of fantastic naval vessels, hulking land ships and terror from the skies in the form of airships and war balloons. Rumors abound of an even more insidious enemy coming from Mars! Will mankind unite in time to save his planet?
New Cyborg Hills from LaserCutCard
Strange symmetrical mesas rise from the cyborg landscape. Are they data centres? Landing pads? Capacitors? No-one knows except the cyborgs, and they only speak binary.
This week we expand our Cyborg range with a new set of cyborg-themed hills.
The set comprises two large half-hills and two small half-hills that can be stacked or arranged as desired.
The large hills are about 250cm wide and 125cm deep on the top (but will be 250cm square if joined together. The bottom slopes out a little giving a footprint of almost 300cm square).
The set can be combined to create a two-level hill but alternatively you can use them as two separate hills. Both levels are just over 40mm high and so will block Line Of Site to all normal infantry models.
The large will easily hold around 30 models on a standard 25mm base, and the two level hill will hold around 28 models easily.
Schrödinger's Cats Starts in on Stretch Goals
Today, Schrödinger’s Cats the first Kickstarter from Heather O’Neill and Heather Wilson, was funded in 7 days with the help of 352 backers. The project was released on January 20th, 2015 to an overwhelmingly positive response from new fans. With the early funding of the game the first official stretch goal has been unlocked offering an additional physical reward.
Heather O’Neill said, “We are so excited that our game has received such an enthusiastic response!”
Her partner, Heather Wilson, said, “I can’t wait to get Schrödinger’s Cats into the hands of our backers and to play the game with them at cons this year!”
The first printing of Schrödinger’s Cats is expected this summer, with high resolution print-and-play versions available shortly after the Kickstarter campaign ends.

What's in the box!?!?!
From the campaign:
Uncertainty didn’t kill the cat, but that doesn’t mean it’s not dead. Dr. Erwin Schrödinger and Werner Heisenberg taught us that. We’ve all heard about the cats in boxes experiment and maybe we're even curious about the results -- but attempting such an experiment would be INSANE in real life! Now you can try your hand at challenging the uncertainty principle without risking the lives of innocent kittens or exposure to radioactive particles! Awww!
In Schrödinger’s Cats players run experiments, form hypotheses, and try to one-up each other’s research. Players take on the role of a Cat Physicist such as Albert Felinestein, Sally Prride, or Neil deGrasse Tabby! Using their special ability to help prove their hypothesis, or at least debunk someone else’s, each cat physicist tries to determine the minimum number of alive cats, dead cats, or empty boxes across all the boxes in Schrödinger’s lab.
You may not be certain your hypothesis is valid, but if you love cats, science, and games you will be certain to love the Schrödinger's Cats card game!
So here's another group of shorter stories we found over the past few days we wanted to pass along.

Stefano Castelli, a devoted gamer and author of boardgames such as Turandot and C.O.A.L.: Combat-Oriented Armored League, writes the lines of the strips; Alan D’Amico, sculptor, illustrator and artist for several boardgames (such as Kingsport Festival, Blue Max, and Everzone) is the author of the drawings.

New Bust WIPs from Abyss
Jason hasn't been sculpting for a very long time yet but as you see, he is quite a natural talent being self taught. In the beginning he made all sorts of awesome sculpts BUT!.... He also squashed quite a lot of them!!! He simply re-used the clay on a new sculpt to practice more. This means that a lot of the sculpts he did last year are no more... :(
However, and I hope he finds more, ther have been some refugees! Below you see the ones he has found hiding. Let us all just hope more were wise enough to escape and will one day return to us!

I mean have you seen the Kobold with the Chainsaw yet?"
