Indie Boards and Cards has a new game in their Aeon's End universe. This one is called Aeon's End: Outcasts and it's a standalone, cooperative deck-building expansion. It's got all the new things you'd want. There's new characters to face and play as, new items to collect, and new spells to master. There's also a new game mode. This new set is up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
A year ago, Indie Boards and Cards expanded the universe and gameplay of the Aeon’s End series with Aeon’s End: The New Age. Now, we are thrilled to continue the epic narrative with an all-new standalone expansion, Aeon’s End: Outcasts! This expansion introduces new mages, nemesis, gems, relics, and spells that are fully compatible with all existing Aeon’s End content. If you are not yet familiar with Aeon’s End, you can check out the BGG page or watch The Dice Tower review where it was given the Seal of Excellence!
Aeon’s End: Outcasts follows Z’hana, an original Aeon’s End breach mage who has turned her back on New Gravehold, and Xaxos, who was exiled after betraying his fellow mages. Xaxos comes to Z’hana with a quest to find a mythical legend, the Fountain of Souls, which can supposedly bring back mages who have fallen in battle.
While in the Void, the Gravehold life dial is replaced with Xaxos himself, who needs to be protected if you’re going to stay safe from the corrupting atmosphere of the Void. Unlike Gravehold, Xaxos is a mage in his own right and can help the players out with powerful abilities.
In addition to the new mode, Aeon’s End: Outcasts comes with eight fresh mages that each bring their own playstyle to the table. With more unique breaches, more thought-provoking cards, more mage-specific tokens, and more entirely brand new mechanics, even veteran Aeon’s End fans will be delighted by this new and exciting experience.
The campaign's more than 6x funded with 17 days left to go.
Indie Boards and Cards has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Aeon's End: The New Age. It's a new expansion to their Aeon's End cooperative deckbuilder card game, and offers all new content in the form of the Expedition Mode. There's all sorts of new cards as well, all of it fully compatible with previous sets from the game.
From the campaign:
Last year Indie Boards and Cards Cards & Action Phase Games released the exciting standalone co-op deckbuilder Aeon’s End: Legacy. This year we are excited to expand the Aeon’s End universe with Aeon’s End: The New Age. This expansion introduces an infinitely replayable Expedition Mode which builds on the existing Aeon’s End lore. It also includes all new mages, nemeses, as well as gems, relics, and spells that are compatible with all existing content.
The Kickstarter is already more than 4x its funding goal with still 29 days to go.
Having a digital version of a game you love can be super handy. You can easily take it with you on your smart device of choice. That means, you can get it out when you want and play wherever you want without having to carry the whole game box around with you. And there's no chance of losing a component or two along the way. If you're a fan of the Aeon's End game, it's up on Kickstarter now, looking to get a digital version.
From the Kickstarter:
Aeon's End is a cooperative deck-building game where you struggle to defend the city of Gravehold from The Nameless and their hordes using unique abilities, powerful spells, and, most importantly of all, your wits. We are excited to be working with designer Kevin Riley from Action Phase Games, as well as Indie Boards and Cards to bring Aeon’s End to Steam, with your help!
Aeon’s End is right at home at Handelabra Games. The combination of deep strategy and cooperative gameplay will feel familiar to fans of our other games like Sentinels of the Multiverse and One Deck Dungeon. Like other deck-building games, you begin a game of Aeon’s End with a basic deck and gradually improve it with new cards as you play. Aeon's End distinguishes itself by adding several innovative mechanics. Randomized turn order simulates the chaos of battle, and deck management rules invite careful planning of every discarded card.
The campaign's about halfway funded with 27 days left to go.
From the campaign:
In 2016, Action Phase Games released the critically acclaimed, cooperative deck-building game, Aeon’s End. Last year Indie Boards and Cards & Action Phase Games released the exciting standalone/expansion Aeon’s End: War Eternal. This year we are excited to grow the universe with Aeon's End Legacy, a standalone game that also expands all previous Aeon's End content.
Aeon's End: Legacy is a full "campaign", where you'll build your character over multiple "chapters," fighting increasingly powerful nemeses to defend Gravehold, the last bastion of humanity. At the end of each game, you will choose new upgrades for your character and more powerful player cards to add to the market. At the end of the campaign, you'll have unique characters, new nemeses, new player cards, and new basic nemesis cards that you can play with indefinitely and/or play with all the other Aeon's End content released. If you would like to play the campaign again, we also offer a Reset Pack as an add-on.
The campaign is closing in on 4x funded with still 29 days left to go.
From the campaign:
War Eternal is a standalone game compatible with the hit cooperative deck building game Aeon's End. Players will struggle to defend Gravehold from The Nameless and their hordes using unique abilities, powerful spells, and an all new cast of dynamic characters. Featuring a number of innovative mechanisms, including a variable turn order system that simulates the chaos of an attack and deck management rules that require careful planning, War Eternal can be played alone or combined with other Aeon's End content for a game experience like no other.
I'd say the campaign's doing well... By that, I mean it's more than 5x funded with still 28 days left to go.
As for the moment, though, before I dive into a bit of last-minute cleaning and then work on cooking, let's get you those gaming reviews I know you all so desperately desire.

Dungeon Saga Review
theMCGuiRE review takes a look at Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King's Quest from Mantic. What a great, simple, straight forward dungeon in a BOOK! I really like the game play on this one and find it to be very fun and engaging to play through as either the Overlord or the Hero's. One aspect of this particular game is the Overlord (DM) is a simple role with a good amount of choices but not to many that drag down game play. The movement and combat are simple from both roles and setup is fast. Excellent job Mantic on this one and I hope to continue and see future expansions and editions released for this system and theme. Well Done! - its my favorite dungeon in a book!

Conquest Games' Medieval Archers Review
In this Battle Brush Studios' Sigur takes a closer look at the latest release by Conquest Games - 28mm Medieval Archers in plastic.
It turns out that the entire basis for Mysterium lies in the paranormal and spiritual world so I approached the game with one eyebrow permanently raised. My brow began to relax a little on seeing the box art – it’s whimsical and captivating, two words which start to describe Mysterium rather well. It actually reminded me of the Professor Layton games in a way (mostly the car on the box) which I enjoyed. So Mysterium began to entice me in.

Mortem Et Gloriam Review
Mortem et Gloriam is a new set of Ancients mass battle rules, written by Simon Hall, who was previously a co-author of the Field of Glory rules, which were published by Osprey Publishing.
We Now Join Our Regularly Scheduled Game Already In Progress (A Review of The Networks)
The Networks is a card drafting and action selection game that has players acting as the heads of emerging television networks. In order to climb up the ratings and become mega-successful, your little network will need shows, stars, and advertising revenue. But it’s not enough to merely acquire these things and slap them on the airwaves willy-nilly. No, to fully maximize your network’s potential you need to schedule your shows so that you grab the most viewers, maximize your ad revenue, and keep your stars happy. The network that attracts the most viewers after five seasons wins the game. Win and you become the HBO of the game. Lose and you’re that awful infomercial channel no one watches.
Play It Again, Sam (A Review of Eclipse: Shadow of the Rift)
Eclipse is a massive game, and I highly recommend checking out my review (And playing the game) to get a feel for how it works. In short: explore the universe. Build space empires. Win.
Shadow of the Rift adds a number of new options you can plug into your game at will, so here’s a quick summary.
Board Game Quest:
Tumult Royale Review
In Tumult Royale, players take on the role of greedy, narcissistic royals who are trying to erect as many statues of themselves throughout the countryside as possible. This is done by taxing the poor peasants in order to acquire the commodities necessary to build the statues. Players need to be careful not to be too greedy, however, because the peasants may revolt, and players cannot afford to lose too many supporters! After as few as 6 and as many as 10 rounds, the player who has placed the most of his statues on the region board is the winner.
Necronomicards is a play on words in the human tongue, derived from the title they have given to my scripture of summoning, the Necronomicon. In this game, humans will try to match ancient symbols to create sets which will allow them to play summon cards. When a human plays a seventh summon card, they win the game.
Cthulhu Crusades Preview
In Cthulhu Crusades, each player is trying to defend their Necronomicon from being stolen. Players start with a castle and three walls to protect it. During the game, players will be drawing cards and taking actions to try and bring down their opponent’s castle walls. Soldiers, Archers, Siege Weapons and because this is a Cthulhu game, even monsters will be a force on the battlefield. Be the first to destroy your opponent’s castle, and you win.
Loony Quest Review
Each player in Loony Quest is trying to earn as many points as possible as they travel through one of Arkadia’s 7 Worlds. Each game, players will choose one of the game’s worlds to travel through, which is broken down into 6 stages, with the final stage being a boss level of course.
In the meantime, let's fill up on some bite-sized gaming stories, shall we?

What is ROTTEN FACTORY?
I’ve been collecting models for battle games for eight years and I always had a feeling that something was missing. Some time ago, I came up with the idea of creating my own line of models in the dark and rotten climate which I always enjoyed. That is how the adventure with ROTTEN FACTORY began.

Load Board Game Coming To Kickstarter Soon
League of Ancient Defenders (LOAD) is an upcoming 2-6 player board game with stunning miniatures and intense gameplay modeled after popular battle arena online games. Players must leverage the unique abilities of their heroes as they push three lanes simultaneously toward the opposing team's base. By destroying key enemy objectives, towers and spawn points, they will force their opponent to abandon the battle in full retreat.
The story of LOAD begins with Earth in peril. The forces of Chaos are spreading across every continent, leaving little but ash and bone in their wake. Humanity's only hope is Atlantis, the island kingdom of myth and the one power strong enough to stand against the relentless armies of darkness. Both factions will find aid from unlikely sources, heroes both old and new will either join in the invasion of Atlantis or aid in its desperate defense. In LOAD, players will decide if Atlantis is burned to the ground or if the forces of Chaos are pushed back into the ocean.
The player's heroes are joined by an array of "creeps", a disposable army of constantly respawning minions to distract and assault enemy heroes and objectives. Slaying enemy heroes and creeps, as well as demolishing objectives, awards gold, which players can use to purchase unique creeps and powerful artifacts for their heroes. Players will need to utilize every advantage if they wish achieve victory over their opponents.
The creators of LOAD plan to seek funding for the board game through Kickstarter. The campaign will begin in a few weeks.

Final Day For Aeon's End Up On Kickstarter
Our Kickstarter project Aeon's End has less than 48 hours remaining before it comes to a successful close!
The development of Discord to Aeon's End was a labor of love for designer, Kevin Riley. He spent thousands of hours redefining the deck building genre, which culminated in the creation of this unique and intense co-op game.
We hope you have enjoyed reading about the evolution of Aeon's End with Kevin's 'Designer Diary' on BGG and the history behind the breach mages, nemeses and Gravehold.
Many thanks to everyone for all of the incredible support during the campaign and for continuously sharing our games with others. We are very excited to get Aeon's End uploaded, ready for print and into your hands.

That's the story behind Aeon's End, their new deck-building game up on Kickstarter.
In this cooperative deck-building game, players must work together in order to defend against The Nameless (... doesn't that mean they actually do have a name?). The game has some innovations that change up the deck-building dynamic. Innovations such as a variable turn system and various deck management rules that really make you think about which cards go into the discard pile.
The Kickstarter just launched today and is set to run for another 30 days.
