Tuesday. I hope your week is going by well. For me, it's a really short week. Tuesday is also a bit like Wednesday because it's the middle of the work week and also a bit like Thursday because it's the penultimate day of the work week. But, as always, I'm ready for the weekend, and am looking to even make a quick week go by quicker. And to do that, I'm gonna listen to some gaming podcasts. On the dial we have:
In episode 44, Jamie starts out by talking a little bit about Baldur's Gate 3 now in early access on Steam and the gang reminisces about some old Dungeons and Dragons video games they've played in the past. Then the Lords take a question from a listener regarding dealing with a player character that is lovingly known as "Cheat Code" because he is so overpowered. Then the group gives into a discussion about playing Rogues in roleplaying games and the various archetypes they enjoy playing.
The beautiful Tuscany region, in the 15th century, is the home of the Italian Renaissance. As influential princes, the players make creative decisions to build their region into a flourishing domain. By supporting towns, villages, and monasteries, or by extracting marble and delivering goods, players see their lands grow, earning them victory points. Each round, players use cards to place useful tiles to expand their regions and gain new opportunities. The winner is the person who has the most victory points after three rounds of play.
A short catch-up this week, were we talk about:
- Raise Your Game - We raised £500 for charity!
- Board Game Smackdown - The Offline Gamer Special!
We also welcome back some returning guests, Pete and James from Board Game Hub who talk about (amongst other things) their new game on Kickstarter - Tessera.
In our 5th Annual Halloween episode we learn the hard way that costumes and podcasts don’t mix, Tim forgets who’s responsible for our sweet, sweet podcasting money, and Dave’s pandemic solitude leads him back to Azeroth and an old gaming addiction.
Then, we find out once again who among the crew deserves the chalice of misery when The Addams Family Feud returns from the dead yet again. Third time’s a charm!
And finally, we plug a truly topical Halloween decoration, Geeky Jean plays favorites, and Celebrity Deathmatch ditches the glasses and milk to find out who’s actually super.
Oh, and don’t forget Tim’s Sack. It’s just scary the things we always seem to find lurking in there.. I’ll be sure to wear some gloves this time.
