AntiMatter Games is looking to expand both their DeepWars and ShadowSea lines. They've headed to Kickstarter in order to get it done. But it's not just some minis. They've also got scenery going on. The campaign's tooled to those of you with a 3D printer.
From the campaign:
The campaign is up and over its funding goal with 17 days left to go.
I don't trust the ocean. You'll never see me on a beach, about to go diving in. I mean, sure there's all the terrible polution that's pretty bad. But there's also all those monstrous sea creatures out there. I'm with Billy Connally, we don't belong in there. Sure, these are only miniatures from AntiMatter Games, but how can we know that they don't actually live out there and are just waiting for me to dip my toe in? Eh?
From the post:
We have some new monstrous ethereal demons and wild sea creatures in the store.
First is Gothagga, an Elder Ethereal being that appears in multiple dimensions. It can be summoned by brave Ethermancers in DeepWars or ShadowSea but it is found in the ShadowSea side of the store.
Next is Xathal – Cacodemon of the Ethers. This Elder Ethereal can be found in the Stygian Depths or summoned in DeepWars or ShadowSea.
Last is the Giant Eurypterid, a wild sea creature for DeepWars that is amphibious and can be used in ShadowSea as well.
We may be 2/3 of the way through summer (up here in the Northern Hemisphere, that is), but that doesn't mean there isn't time for a Summer Sale. And that's just what AntiMatter Games is having now over in their webshop. Want to pick up some DeepWars and ShadowSea figures for cheaper than usual? Now's your chance.
From the announcement:
Summer Sale is here! Get 20% off orders from the AntiMatter Games online store using the code "amg". The sale lasts until September 15. Some restrictions apply to bundles and special boxed sets. Visit the store at the link below.
I never want to go out into the ocean. We have no idea what really is living out there, and it'd be just my luck that I take one step into the waves and something like this Elder Sea Dragon attacks. So, I'll just live vicariously through games like DeepWars. And speaking of those two, AntiMatter Games has started taking down names of those who would like a new Elder Sea Dragon mini when it's released next month.
From the announcement:
The Elder Sea Dragon is now cast up and shipping in July for DeepWars. This huge wild sea creature is used by the Scaly Horde and acts as a transport, towing smaller troops around the battlefield. Cast in resin, the model is 200mm in length. It can be ordered from the AMG website here.
Deep below our feet, a whole other land thrives. Nestled in the dark places of the Earth, a separate ocean, entirely cut off from the outside world, is teeming with life. AntiMatter Games will bid you to explore these waters in ShadowSea and DeepWars, their two miniatures games. In July (get me a jury and show me how to say In July...), each game will be getting a new starter set.
From the announcement:
Coming soon for a July release, the two-player starter sets for DeepWars and ShadowSea. Here are the cover art for both of their rulebooks that will come in the sets. The books will include rules to play and a full 8-battle campaign. The sets include printed maps, miniatures and dice, so they will have everything needed to get started.
AntiMatter Games is making sure that you're ready for Black Friday next week. They've posted up the details for their sale, which is pretty simple. Use the coupon code and get 30% off your order. It's nice when they're easy like that.
From the announcement:
AntiMatter Games will be having its Black Friday sale from Nov 23-26, covering Cyber Monday also. Use the code "black" in the shopping cart to get a 30% discount.
The folks over at AntiMatter Games are running a Kickstarter campaign for The Stygian Depths - Lost Temple of Xibalba. It's a new group adventure for ShadowSea. Playable both solo and with friends, the set takes you to new depths below the Earth and below the waves.
From the campaign:
This Kickstarter will help us produce many new products, with the main focus on the dungeon exploration game, The Stygian Depths - Lost Temple of Xibalba. The Stygian Depths is a supplement for our tabletop skirmish game, ShadowSea - Conquest of the Underground World. Funding this project will also help us produce two-player starter sets with new miniatures and rulebooks for ShadowSea and DeepWars, our game of underwater combat that is 100% compatible with ShadowSea. In addition, we are producing a ShadowSea supplement for Grace Flynn and other characters from the stories of P.L. McCall. This campaign, Grace Flynn - Tides of Forever, will have Grace and her crew lost in the world of the Shadow Sea and have to survive a Solo or Co-op adventure. Lastly, we are producing new miniatures for The Stygian Depths and the Grace Flynn supplements and the two-player starter sets.
The Stygian Depths - Lost Temple of Xibalba
This supplement to ShadowSea will come complete with its own rules section, introducing new special rules for dungeon exploring, so that players do not need to have the full ShadowSea rulebook. The game takes place in the sunken city of Xibalba, located within the shallow waters of Blood Reef. Warbands from any of the main forces of ShadowSea or DeepWars may enter the temples, which have their upper sections exposed from the sea surface, and search for ancient treasures. The game will include printed and PDF versions of the rulebook, floor tiles and cards.
The campaign's already up and over its funding goal, so it's on to stretch goals for the next 19 days.
From the announcement:
The new cards for all DeepWars forces, including the new submersibles, have been added to the PDF downloads from the AntiMatter Games site.
From the preview:
Here are WIP sculpts from the Order of Yosoth starter set. This is the Priest of Yosoth and the Corrupted Researcher. Both were sculpted by Celestino Angiolilli and are led by the Iron Hand of yosoth. The last one for the set is in progress, the Chittan bound ethereal.
Here is a sneak peek at the DeepStar Kraken wild sea creature, due for March release. This was a stretch goal for the DeepWars - Hunters of the Abyss kickstarter. These nasty creatures use hypnotic lights to transfix their prey, so running into one of these is not good for a warband's health.
Here are new releases for ShadowSea for February and March. These models will all be resin casts. They include the Iron Hand of Yosoth, the Fortune Hunter Pirate Adventurer and Prince Corym ShadowShifter for the Dark Mariners.
From the post:
Here are a couple of photos of the WIP Carangaform mech swarm for the Ancients of Atalan. It's about ready to send to the printer.
From the post:
The Sea Hag, or “Ginny Greenteeth” as the pirates of the Fortune Hunters have called her, is a witch of terrible power with an appetite for human flesh. Once the most beautiful of the Nereids, this vile creature experimented with transmutation magic in the ancient caverns of the Stygian Depths below the sunken city of Xibalba. She no longer has the scaly beauty of the Nereids but her lust for magical power makes the Sea Hag share their common goal of protecting Xibalba from invaders, aided by her minions, devious Sea Goblins and brutish Sea Trolls. Ginny Greenteeth will be available in early 2018 for DeepWars.

Stroop Card Game Review

So get ready and strap in because in this fun and fast party game, you are going to have a blast with 2-4 players!!
Dog Might Games Component Collector and Dice Tray Review
theMCGuiRE review takes a look at Dogmight's brand new component collector and one of their very nice and custom dice trays. These guys are making some very cool gaming components and I have been impressed with the artistic style on their products.
Today we’re going to take a look at Antimatter Games DeepWars, a 28mm miniature war game of underwater combat set in an alternate Earth in the 17th Century. I’d like to give a shout out to Eric over at Antimatter Games for sending us their game for us to take a look at.
Board Game Quest:
Beasts of Balance Review
In Beasts of Balance, players are trying to earn the most points by stacking creatures and other shapes onto a digitally connected platform (called a plinth in the game). As players stack items onto the plinth, the integrated app will reveal how the new shape interacts with the digital world. The goal of the game is to earn the most points, which is done by creating and caring for the animals you place.
Jaipur iOS Review
Merchants trading camels, spices, fabrics, and treasures is the subject of Jaipur. Players will aim to trade in sets of cards to gain points, hoping to use their trading ability with the market to force their opponent to take lesser value sets. Most victory points wins, and two out of three games wins a match.
Clank! Sunken Treasure Expansion Review
The main aspect that Sunken Treasures adds to Clank! is the danger of water. Each room or Crystal Cave can now be “flooded”, giving the space an extra bit of danger. Each turn that characters remain completely in water (moving only in flooded rooms/caves), they take one damage from suffocation. This is avoided by starting a turn or at some point moving to a non-flooded room.
In addition to the new board (double sided), the new cards, monsters, and market items interact with this concept. SCUBA gear (Sorcery Created Underwater Breathing Apparatus) dispels the perils of underwater travel making a stop at the market even more of a priority. SCUBA also aids in the speed of movement between particular flooded rooms.
Isle of Monsters Review
Players act as monster wranglers aiming to collect the right group of monsters to scare “the crowd” and their neighbors. Each monster is aligned with a type (earth, fire, water) and monsters can scare either from being the strongest or by having a type that scares another type (i.e. water scares fire). Each time a monster scares, it collects a certain amount of points. The player with the most points at the end wins.
In Qwinto, each player will attempt to complete as many numbers as possible on their score sheet to score points. There are three different colored rows and a die in each of those three colors. Depending on what die (or dice) is rolled limits the row that you can write the result into, but your results have to ascend from left to right and you can’t use a duplicate number in a row or column.
The game ends when a player has completed two rows or a player has rolled four failures and then the player with the most points wins.

Meeples & Miniatures:
Fistful of Lead - Reloaded Review
Fistful of Lead: Reloaded is a set of wargaming rules for ‘Gunfights in the Wild West’, published by Wiley Games. It was funded by a kickstarter project which was launched in November 2015, which had 132 backers and raised just over $8,000.
Watson & Holmes Review
Watson & Holmes is a competitive mystery game. Included are 13 scenarios, each providing a different story, set of locations, and solution.
The game is begun by reading the scenario introduction and the two or three questions that need answering. From there, players race to investigate characters, locations, and items to find the answers to those questions.
In Zooloretto you are a zoo administrator working to grow and manage a wildlife park as efficiently as possible by collecting sets of animals without taking in ones that you have no room for.
The core “add or take” mechanism is the same principle used in the earlier published Coloretto. Indeed, today so many card game versions are produced from popular board games. Yet Schacht seemingly did the reverse (before the cool kids were doing it). His card game actually predates this board implementation, which adds additional moving parts.
To administer their parks, players collect sets of animals, kiosks and extra money as they come in by truck. On a turn, you must take one of three possible actions.

Final Day for DeepWars Kickstarter Campaign
The Kickstarter project for DeepWars - Hunters of the Abyss is reaching the finish line, having funded a highly detailed submarine model and many other new miniatures for DeepWars like the vicious Sea Troll, Sea Dog Corsair and Ginny Greenteeth, the Sea Hag. The campaign is progressing through stretch goals and reaching for some that are just out of reach. Come pledge for this project to help unlock the new models, like the Sea Wraith submarine for the Ancients of Atalán, the wild and deadly Deepstar Kraken and possibly even the massive Coelomech bio-sub for the Dark Mariners.
dice.run Dice Rolling Tool Up Online
If you've ever been curious about the relationship between dice and the chance of an outcome, dice.run is worth checking out. Not only does it handle the probability breakdown of any dice expression, but it also conveniently includes the chance of `at least` some value and `at most` some value. For example, the classic D&D method of 4d6 drop lowest 1, has an 89.5% chance of at least a 9, with an exact chance of a 9 of 7%. dice.run also supports exploding (rolling again and adding) or re-rolling which can really change the shape of the curves dramatically. Check it out to better understand how the dice effect the games we love.
Brigade Models release 6mm Combat Cars
Today we’re releasing two new vehicles for our 6mm Mercenary Brigade force, bringing the small-scale range into line with their 15mm counterparts.
The first is the Mantra Cavalry Vehicle. Based on the drive train of the Shaman tank, this is an open-topped fast recce vehicle which dispenses huge amounts of firepower from the three crew-served gatlings in the rear compartment. The gunners are protected from shrapnel by an overhead splinter screen. The Shinigami is the Mantra’s predecessor, essentially an extended jeep with two gatlings in the unprotected rear deck.
Both models are metal castings with separate guns. The Mantra’s splinter screen is an etched-brass piece – it just needs to be cut out of its frame and the legs bent downwards 90°, which then pop into position on the chassis with a drop of superglue. Both models are available individually or in a Recce Troop pack containing six of each model along with a pair of Wizard jeeps.
SF300-1506 – Mantra Cavalry Vehicle – £1.00
SF300-1510 – Shinigami Combat Car – £0.60
IC-1516 – Mercenary Scout Troop – £9.50
Well, now that I've got that song stuck in your head, let's take a look at DeepWars. AntiMatter Games is running a Kickstarter to expand their DeepWars line, including a new submarine as well as various other sea creatures and characters.
From the campaign:
This Kickstarter will help us produce new resin submarines for DeepWars, our game of underwater combat and exploration. The focus of the project is on the first of the planned submersibles, the Argonaut, as well as new miniatures for the game supplement, Blood Reef. The model for the Argonaut has been sculpted in 3D and is almost ready for production. The model is 200 mm in length and scaled for 30mm gaming.
The submarine will come with a detailed coral reef base and will have a full cockpit interior with windows cast in clear resin to allow for viewing of the pilot.
We are also producing new miniatures for DeepWars...
From the announcement:
AntiMatter Games is continuing our Spring Sale through May 15th, with a discount of 20% when using the code “amg” in the shopping cart. GCT Studios' Pioneers Program Needs You
As we move on to our second round of external play testing before heading to Kickstarter we are looking for people that are interested in joining in this next round of play testing.
Lost Cat Games Launches Open Beta For Straight To VHS
Lost Cat Games invites gamers and bad-movie lovers everywhere to participate in Straight to VHS’ free and open beta phase. Straight to VHS is an RPG that indulges in the boundless fun and absurdity of no-good and ridiculous movies of the VHS era.
When the expectation is for the plot to be a shlocky mess and the player characters are cybernetic hobos, gangster preachers, or ninja werewolves… well, we think a great time is guaranteed. Mix and match any two of the provided character tropes to create your B-movie hero and be sure to sneak in the occasional Script Change before the credits roll.
The game is available for free (no account, e-mail address or anything is required) while we continue to refine and expand it in preparation for a final release. We’d love to hear your thoughts so that we can make Straight to VHS the best, most kickin’ game it can be!

Arcanik: New RPG system in development
A new RPG system is being developed, and is forgoing the normal route of doing so. Instead, it's already open and ready to be played! All the basic rules have been put down in its website, and it can be played for free.
Arcanik is a sci-fantasy role-playing game specifically designed to encourage and rewards players for coming up with outlandish plans, crazy stunts, and internet-worthy stories of just how ridiculous your character was. At the core of this is the Ingenuity system, which makes it easier to pull off feats of strength, speed, and cunning. It has both high magic and superior technology, as well as multiple races that are unique to the system itself.
Right now, the system isn't all on the website yet, but will be soon. The core rules for character creation are down, as are a few monsters and NPC generation, so anyone could potentially run or play the game. The creator, Dylan Lewis, is also seeking anyone willing to help playtest the system, and his contact information is right on the front page of the website.

Massive Awesome will also be in attendance at Salute 2016 at the ExCeL Centre in London on Saturday April 16th, where they will be displaying their current range of Shattered Earth miniatures, plus running demo games on a custom-made board. Why not swing by booth TK19 and check out the game?
Blitzkrieg 222 Assault Vehicle Now Available From Kromlech
we finally have the main course of this week :) I am proud to present you:
Blitzkrieg 222 Assault Vehicle
It is highly detailed, resin model kit, which includes two options for turret. First with rocket launcher, second with HMG. You can use both interchangeably.
Though this coral reef for DeepWars from AntiMatter Games is a bit more deadly and a lot less cheery than the one in The Little Mermaid. Though there certainly are mermaids in this new Blood Reef expansion set. They're called the Nereids. I don't think they really sing all that much.
This Kickstarter campaign looks to bring you quite a few things. First off is a 2.5th edition of DeepWars. These new rules expand on the previous set, including more combat options and an upgraded form of the activation system (letting you either choose between a basic action, or trying to roll to perform a more complex one). Stat cards for the models have also been upgraded, now coming on tarot-sized cards, giving you more information right on the card.
But what's new for these Nereids? Well, there's full stats for them, their Sea Goblin cohorts, and new beasts of the briny deep. With a new environment comes new dangers as well in the form of whirlpools, riptides, and various forms of coral. There's also rules for playing in and around shipwrecks. Of course, there's new artifacts, spells, special equipment, and abilities, too.
The campaign is more than 5/8 the way to funding and still has 29 days still to go.
Today's installment of Snippets we have: Brigade Models Release New 6mm Armoured Infantry, Cannon Fodder WW2 Stickers Now Available, New ATER miniatures are here, New Weapons and Accessories Available from Victoria Miniatures, DeepWars - Blood Reef Kickstarter coming soon, and New Bases Available From Tabletop-Art.
Brigade Models Release New 6mm Armoured Infantry
Last week we released our new 6mm Polish infantry, sculpted by Martin Baker. This week it’s the turn of the Pacific Federation figures, which are heavily armoured with more advanced weapons.
The contents of each pack is the same as the Polish, with enough figures to make three identical squads of a squad leader, five riflemen, a SAW and an anti-tank missile launcher. Again, there are three different riflemen poses to avoid too much repetition.
As with the Polish, all PacFed packs that contain infantry will now contain the new figures instead of the older generic ones.
Cannon Fodder WW2 Stickers Now Available
The stickers are designed for Bolt Action, IABSM, CoC, Crossfire and other WW2 ruleset with individual based miniatures with round 25mm bases!
You can also insert some actually "heroes" in larger units.
Very important: these pre-cut stickers are laminated and so you can write, erase and re-write with a water-based marker some information as squad number, skill, abilities etc... in the little blank circles.
The future products will be: stickers of national flags, famous corps, divisions or regiments logos and why not, for other ruleset and periods.
With these stickers you can field very well the squads of miniatures.
If you want I can ship you three examples: German, Russian and U.S., so you can see the good quality in your hands!

Deadsculpt Figures is happy to announce that 3 new miniatures from the series "ATER" are now available from the webstore

Guadalcanal Battle Set Released by Topside Minis
The Guadalcanal battle set includes 145 units (109 surface ships and 36 aircraft) and lets you recreate four complete WWII naval battles of the 1942 Guadalcanal campaign. They are as follows:
1st Battle of Guadalcanal
2nd Battle of Guadalcanal
Of the 145 units, 61 units are new ships. The others are already existing ships from our inventory. We have included the planes that were specific to the naval battles in this set. In the very near future we will be releasing an add-on set of both Japanese and American ships and planes that will fill out the Pacific Theater Fleet. There will be many more Japanese aircraft and carriers. We will also have several American and Japanese destroyer escorts, American PT boats and many escort carriers.
Next up however is the Battle Off Samar set featuring Taffy 3 and it's epic battle against the Japanese Fleet. This will be quickly followed by our Pearl Harbor set that will include most of the ships in the Harbor at the time of the attack. We will publish those OOB shortly.
New Sturmgewehr soldiers from Iron Cross Miniatures
this time we are happy to present to you our troopers with Sturmgewehr 44 assault rifles. These will give you the option to replace men with Karabiner 98k in your squads. The weapon was planned as "MP 43" (for Maschinenpistole or machine pistol) but was renamed "Sturmgewehr" (assault rifle) for propaganda purposes. The Sturmgewehr was perceived as versatile and effective in combat. Yet, late war production problems did not allow to equip the German infantry formations completely.
The three figures bear a Sturmgewehr each. While the first shooter is firing from a firm standing position, the second man is reloading. He has already stuffed the empty magazine in his webbing as he opens a pocket to grab a new one. The third trooper is sprinting to reach cover. To not hinder movement he holds the weapon in one hand as German regulations dictated.
The three figures will be available for 7,90 € on our web shop in a few weeks.
Best regards and until next week

Manorhouse Workshop Forgotten Halls : first glance behind the scenes
It’s time to show some drawings to give you a first taste about the project.
Forgotten Halls will immerge you in a daedalus of rooms, corridors, and accessories so realistic that you will forget to be looking at a gaming accessory.
Our new idea gives birth to modular walls and columns, with invisible inserts, which blend all together seamlessly, creating an exciting and bewildering overall result.
Here is for you a drawing which shows how columns and walls interact and fit in each other.
Notice also the cover add-on which is added to complete the whole.
Once assembled, here is the final result.
You can also look at the CAD drawings made by Michele Bottalico, which shows the real measurements (in millimeters) of our pieces.
We are just at the beginning, soon we will show you the stairs and the floors, all important and key parts of Forgotten Halls!
Along with a 25% discount from now until the end of December (just use the code "white" at checkout), the guys at AntiMatter are also reopening the Pledge Manager for their recent Kickstarter. More people can join in on the pre-orders via the manager and potentially unlock a new painting guide.
