Corvus Belli is teaming up with Vallejo to create Infinity-specific paint sets. You've been painting your figures with just anything, but soon you'll be able to get the official paints on there. And the sets are more than just bottles. They've got exclusive sculpts of figures in there as well. Have yourself a look.
Woo! Friday! Woo! The weekend is nearly upon us. Just gotta break on through to the other side of today's work day and we'll be golden. I've got some hanging out and streaming tomorrow planned, as well as having some yummy food. Speaking of tasty snacks, let's nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: The Realm of the Dragon Fantasy Miniatures Up On Kickstarter, Hinterland Wooden Dice Collection Up On Kickstarter, Iconic Envy Dice Releasing Today From Kraken Dice, New Shoulderpad Designs Available to Pre-Order From Puppets War, and New Star Wars: Legion Paints Coming From Fantasy Flight.
Halfway there. We're halfway there to the weekend. I've got D&D coming up. Hopefully you have your own gaming planned. Or, if not, some fun plans in whatever form they may be. But, seeing as we're halfway there, we need to munch on some bite-sized gaming stories so we can have enough energy for the last half of the week.
On the platter today we have: Kraken Dice Warehouse Sale Starts Today, Cthulhu Coins up on Kickstarter, Acheson Creations Releases 28mm Allosaurus and Camarasuarus, and WizKids and Vallejo Partner to Create New Paint Line.
Grab your paint brushes and remember to thin out your paints. Man Battlestations is running their 2019 painting contest. I don't have any tiny ships to paint, and I've never been good at the application of colored goop, so you don't have to worry about me as competition.
This has to have been the longest 3-day week I've had in quite some time. But car repairs and doctor's visits will do that to you, I suppose. I'm so very much ready for the weekend, as 2019 is already doing a number on me, and we're not even a full week in yet. Maybe I can gain some strength from a pair of bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Paint Colors From Secret Weapon Miniatures and The Art of the Miniature Painting Guide Up On Kickstarter.
Steve Barber Models has started taking pre-orders for their new guide on how to paint figures set during the American Civil War. If your painting could use a leg-up (like mine certainly could), this is the ultimate guide in blues and greys (as well as all the other appropriate colors). You can even order a copy signed by the author.
GCT Studios has a lot going on for you in this update. They've got a new painting competition they're running over on their website. They've also got a huuuuuuuge preview of the next wave of Bushido releases.
There's a bear. An actual bear. So you know I'm excited about that.
I just got in some new Guild Ball minis and I'm going to need to paint them up. Unfortunately, my painting skills are pretty much a joke. I really need to step up my game. Maybe Issue 49 of Figure Painter Magazine can help. Well, I'm sure it can. It's just that kind of magazine.
It's getting hot outside. What a great time to get out your paints, sit down at your painting table, and crank the AC (and maybe AC/DC while you work). And if you're a master at slinging the colored goop around, you may want to check out the Summer Offensive Painting Competition that Warlord Games is running.
Weekeeeeend! Woo! Ok, so it's not exactly here yet, but it will be soon enough (That's not soon enough!). Just gotta get through the rest of today and we'll be there. I've got gaming lined up for tomorrow. I hope you do, too. But, as always, if we're going to be spending a day gaming, we should be sure to snack on some bite-sized gaming stories so we have our strength with us.
Today on the platter we have: Artis Opus Series S: Brush Set Up On Kickstarter, Reclusive Phoenix Entertainment To Run Kickstarter For Cthulhu-inspired Miniatures Line, Campaign Coins Running Deluxe Metal Meeples Kickstarter, Ultra PRO International to make Munchkin and Munchkin Collectible Card Game accessories, and Brigade Models - New British and German Aeronef Released.
Halfway through the week already? Man, it sure does seem to fly on by. We'll see if today is its usual "seemingly longest day of the week" or if we can get on through it. But any way you look at it, we need to make sure our energy's up, whether it's a quick couple of days to the weekend or it takes a while. So let's snack on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Bastet Helmets Available From Puppets War, 28mm 1745 Jacobite Rebellion Miniatures Up On Kickstarter, and The Army Painter Announces Official D&D Paints Line.
Under the sea (under the sea) there's a whole race of elves (sorry, aelves) that have been hiding out from the ocean, sticking clean clear of Slaanesh and only doing some light raiding. Well, that time is over. They're storming the beaches and bringing their fight inland. You can pick up the Codex for this new faction, as well as several new units and accesssories, as Games Workshop's taking pre-orders for them now.
A couple weekends ago, I painted up the first minis I'd done in about 2 years. They... don't look great. I mean, they are ok enough, I suppose. But they're not going to be anything I really show off. To get to that point, I'd need to paint a lot more and read a lot more Figure Painter Magazine. Thankfully, Issue 48 is now available to help me out.
Warlord Games has a whole slew of new releases for Hail Caesar over in their webshop. They've got new minis, as well as whole new sets of accessories for you to check out. Also, please feel free to comment with all your favorite Monty Python and the Holy Grail jokes below. We know you want to.
Hello, Friday, my old friend. This has been the first full-week of the year, methinks. Like, ok, I know that we're already into February, but I think this might be the only week where I've been up and into the office each day. Just been that type of year so far, I suppose. What might help is bulking up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: The Army Painter Announces New Zombicide: Green Horde Paint Sets, Dice Coins Up On Kickstarter, Muddleflog Paper Miniatures Are Now Available, and New Oval Ancient Machinery Bases Available From Tabletop-Art.
While I wouldn't recommend that you paint your minis with the same mop that you use to swab the deck, that's about how my figures tend to look. Hopefully, yours look a lot better. If they look a whoooole lot better, you might just be able to win Man Battlestations' 2018 Painting Contest.
A couple weeks ago, I went through my (rather neglected) paint collection, resuscitating those that I could, and tossing out those that were dried solid. I have been meaning to start painting again. Just need to find time to do it. I know my skills will be rusty, but maybe by reading through Figure Painter Magazine Issue 47, I can get a jump-start back to making my models presentable. You can get your copy as well, as it's available now.
Warlord Games lets you play using far-Eastern themes in their skirmish game, Test of Honour. But what if you want to put entire regiments of figures out onto the board, instead of just a few? That's where Pike & Shotte comes in. If you're wanting to prove your honor on the battlefield there, you can order the new Ashigaru Spearmen & Missle Troops, as well as Samurai & Horsemen. Plus, there's some new decals to make them look really good on the battlefield.
Fridaaaaaaay! And man, I worked like mad yesterday, but there's still tons to do. And you should see what my grocery list looks like for tomorrow. We'll see if I can fit everything into my little Chevy Aveo. I might have to do it in two goes. But that's for tomorrow (and into next week). At the moment, it's about getting some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Khurasan releases 15mm West Sudanese, New Version of PaintMyMinis App Now Available, Comet Lord Miniatures: Legendary Monsters Up On Kickstarter, and Trolls & Goblins by Aenor Miniatures Up On Kicsktarter.
One of my first armies back when I started playing miniatures games was a Tyranid force for 40k. They were still relatively new back in 2nd edition. They were just so cool and alien (and I'd not even seen Alien at the time). Well, for those that might want to get into the faction, there's a new Tyranid Codex available to pre-order over on the Games Workshop site. They've also got bunches of other things, much of which would fit in today's Terrain Corner. Also, bunches of paint sets.
It's halfway over. The work week is about half-done for most of us. With any luck, you're looking forward to a weekend of gaming. I might be doing some of that. But I can guarantee that I'll be doing some baking. Actually, that'll start tomorrow. We're having a chili and dessert cook-off here at the office on Friday. Then, over the weekend, I need to "pay for" a custom game mat design a friend did by baking him some of his favorite treats and sending them off. Hey, the barter system is alive and well among my friends. You do some graphic design for me and I'll bake cookies and brownies for you. But before we get to those bite-size treats, let's nosh on some bite-size gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Final Days for Cult of Barnacle Bay on Kickstarter, MASK FX Camouflage tape is back, 17 New Releases Available From Dark Sword Miniatures, New Void Elves Available From Raging Heroes, New Orc Mechanic Available From Kromlech, and Voting For Round 1 of Iron Painter Happening Now.
We're doing our best to fill up your day with gaming here on TGN. But I gotta sleep sometime. So where I leave off, gaming magazines pick up. In this case, it's Figure Painter Magazine. Because you definitely don't want to be taking painting advice from me! Instead, flip through the magazine and get tips and techniques from the best painters out there today. Issue 46 is now available for your reading pleasure.
The week continues along. We've made it halfway through! The weekend will be here before we know it. At least, I think it will, since it seems this week is going by pretty quickly. Seems I keep looking down at my clock and going, "man, it's (time) already?" Yesterday seemed to go by in a flash. So 3 more flashes and we'll be to Saturday, right? Well, if we're going to be time-hopping like that, we should stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today we have: Roll Versus Coal Dice Sets Available, Dark Art Studios Announces Fierce - Warriors & Monsters Kickstarter, Just A Few Days Left in the Pathfinder: Modern Adventures Kickstarter, New Morbid Doors Available From Kromlech, Brigade Models Release Neo-Soviet Armoured Infantry Carrier in 6mm, Redgrass Games Running Everlasting Wet Palette Kickstarter, Shieldwolf Miniatures Running Warmaidens & Dragonbreds Kickstarter, New Dark Stain Option For Ultimate Gaming Table, and Immortal Figures: Gods of Olympus Tabletop Gaming Miniatures Up On Kickstarter.
Well, the short week that seemed surprisingly long has come to an end. We're about to make our way back to the weekend. Considering the various things hitting Netflix this past week, I'm guessing a lot of my weekend will involve binging some shows like MLP and Bojack Horseman. But there will still be some gaming going on. That's just how it goes. In the meantime, I should stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: The Everlasting Wet Palette Coming To Kickstarter, Viral Outbreak Miniatures Up On Kickstarter, and New releases from Terrible Kids Stuff - September 2017.
Most painting competitions out there have you paint up a single piece and submit it as your entry. Wyrd's Iron Painter is like that... kinda, except for the fact that you're doing that multiple times in a row, each time with a new piece that has to be better than the last one if you want to advance on. It's painting at your highest level consistently over the course of the competition. Not many can hack it (I certainly can't!). But if you think you can, now's your chance to enter.
